What is the difference between an LCD TV and a Plasma TV?
LCD TVs produce a picture using liquid crystals, while Plama TVs use neon and xenon gas to produce a picture. There are numerous advantages and disadvantages to both types of displays that we would be happy to help point you in the right direction based upon your environment and use.

What is 1080p?
1080p is considered full high-definition & refers to 1080 lines of vertical resolution. “p” refers to progressive scan, meaning that the image is not interlaced. 1080p cannot be detected by the human eye in anything smaller than a 60“ TV. 1080i is also high-definition, but has only half the resolution of 1080p, resulting in more ”flicker“ in the picture.

What wiring do I need to hang a flat screen TV?
For most cable TV applications using a cable box, a component wiring set is necessary to carry the HD video signal from the cable box to the TV.

What is a component wiring set?
A component wiring set includes cables to carry the red/blue/green signals from your cable box to the TV. Together, these carry the complete color spectrum, giving you a high-definition picture.

What is an HDMI cable?
HDMI is an acronym for A High Definition Multi-media Interface cable, and it consists of 19 audio and video wires, which are then wrapped into one jacket. The HDMI cable supports standard, enhanced, or high-definition video plus standard to multi-channel surround-sound audio. HDMI benefits include uncompressed digital video, a bandwidth of up to 5 gigabytes per second, one connector instead of several cables and connectors, and communication between the video source and the Digital TV.

Why do I need both an HDMI cable AND a component wiring set?
Current technology may not support HDMI in all devices, including some cable boxes, some older DVD players, VCRs, and X-Box 360. We suggest adding component wiring to compensate for equipment that does not take advantage of the HDMI cable.
